Welcome to the Tristar Products Inc. Blog.

I’m John Glowatts, and I’m the Director of Production here at Tristar.

In this blog, I’m going to be giving you monthly updates on things happening in and around Tristar Products Inc. including news, events, promotions & team building activities.
While all of us here love our jobs, we do have a lot of outside interests. That’s why my first post isn’t going to be about work, but instead will be about an event that a lot of us participate in. The “Commerce Bank Five Boro Bike Tour” which has turned into an annual event for us.
The Five Boro Bike Tour was founded in 1977, and that first event had just 250 participants. This year, the Challenge will have over 30,000 riders. Regardless of the number of riders, the sole purpose of the Bike Tour has always been to celebrate New York City.
The bike tour consists of a 42 mile ride through all five boroughs in NYC and is one of the largest recreational cycling event in America.
The fun starts at 8am in Battery Park located in Lower Manhattan. From Battery Park we head north through the heart of Manhattan to Central Park and continue on to historic Harlem and the Bronx, returning south along the East River on the FDR Drive. From there we cross into Queens and then Brooklyn, where everyone taking over the highway before making the thrilling climb up--and down--the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge to Staten Island. The route is mostly flat except for the bridges.
When the Tour reaches Staten Island there is a Festival at Fort Wadsworth in Gateway National Recreation Area. We celebrate our accomplishment by grabbing a bite to eat and checking out exhibits and other goodies. Once we are ready to go, we get to our cars and head home and hope not to be too sore the next day.

There’s always a group from Tristar riding in the tour and on Saturday May 5th we will be there again. This time we’ll be 16 riders strong and sponsored by Tristar Products and the Power Juicer Brand.

So be sure to look for us and say ‘hello’!
